According to a news release issued by Entergy on Wednesday, the Louisiana Public Utility Regulatory Agency has approved its plans to build three new natural gas power plants to provide electricity for Meta's largest data center. This latest and largest data center by Meta is located in a rural area of Louisiana, occupying 4 million square feet and designed to support the company's most advanced artificial intelligence models. When running at full capacity, it is estimated to have an annual power consumption of up to 5 gigawatts.
