European main stock indexes closed mostly lower.

The German DAX 30 index fell by 0.73% to 24244.52 points. The French stock index fell by 0.14% and the Italian stock index fell by 0.39%, while the banking index dropped by 0.62%. The UK stock index rose by 1.15% in preliminary trading.
