The Ministry of Finance has issued an announcement on the personal income tax policy related to childcare subsidies, mentioning that in order to implement the provisions of the "Childcare Subsidy System Implementation Plan" issued by the General Office of the Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council, childcare subsidies distributed in accordance with the childcare subsidy system are exempt from personal income tax. The health department has established an information sharing mechanism with the finance and tax departments. County-level health departments will handle tax exemption declarations for individuals applying for subsidies according to regulations. The announcement will take effect on January 1, 2025.
