Recently, reporters learned from the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the excavation of the underground gas storage of the 300MW advanced compressed air energy storage national demonstration power station built by Zhongyu Guoneng in Xinyang, Henan has been successfully completed by 50%. This marks an important milestone in the construction of China's first large-scale gas storage facility of 300,000 cubic meters. A 300,000 cubic meter underground gas storage facility is equivalent to the volume of 130 Olympic standard swimming pools filled with water. In the compressed air energy storage system, the underground gas storage facility plays a crucial role as a core infrastructure, determining important factors such as gas storage capacity, system efficiency, safety, stability, etc.
