According to reports, Chinese electric car giant BYD has established a local subsidiary in Argentina to engage in the automotive manufacturing business. This move may suggest that the world's largest electric car manufacturer is about to start producing cars in the third largest automotive market in South America. The filing has been registered with the country's judicial department, authorizing BYD Argentina S.A. to not only import and sell cars, but also to manufacture and maintain vehicles, batteries, and car parts. Essentially, this registration allows the company to operate across the entire electric vehicle supply and service chain.
