Ford Motor Company and South Korea's SK On are looking for buyers for surplus batteries produced at their new joint venture factory in Kentucky, USA. This highlights the weakening demand for electric vehicles in the United States. The factory started production on Tuesday and was initially intended to support Ford's own electric vehicle business. Although the factory will still supply batteries for Ford's F-150 Lightning plug-in pickup trucks at first, the two companies have expanded their strategic partnership to attract more customers and better utilize the current market capacity.
