KFC opens a new location in Shanghai as a test, with no dining area and an average customer spend of 30 yuan.
In mid-August, a netizen posted on a social platform that two fried chicken stores in Pudong, Shanghai were promoting themselves under the name of "KFC", but he had never seen KFC with these stores before, so he posted to inquire about their authenticity. On August 19th, the reporter confirmed from a staff member of KFC Shanghai that it is indeed a new sub-brand under KFC. This is KFC's new sub-brand after introducing Ken Yue Coffee, Ken Lu Light Food, and Grandpa's Leisure Tea. The reporter found out that the two stores each have a store area of only about 20 square meters, with no dining area, and 4 employees working inside mainly providing delivery and self-pickup services. The two stores sell Chinese-style and Korean-style fried chicken, and according to Dianping data, the average customer spending in these stores is around 30 yuan. The business hours are from 11 am to 2 am the next day, and the stores have given up the breakfast period, covering the late-night snack scene.
