A Boeing aircraft in Germany caught fire after takeoff, with no casualties.

On the evening of August 16th local time, a Boeing 757-300 aircraft operated by Condor Airlines flying from the Greek island of Corfu to Dusseldorf, Germany, had flames coming out of the right engine shortly after takeoff. Passengers on board also heard "a series of explosions." According to reports, the pilot immediately stopped climbing at 8000 feet, shut down the engine involved in the incident, declared an emergency, and diverted the plane to Brindisi, Italy. The aircraft landed safely about 30 minutes later. There were no injuries among the 273 passengers and 8 crew members on board. The cause of the incident is not yet clear.
