Australian regulatory agency sues Google for alleged anti-competitive behavior.

On August 18, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission announced that it has filed a lawsuit against Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet, accusing it of engaging in anti-competitive behavior in agreements with Australian telecommunications operators Telstra and Optus to pre-install Google search services on Android phones. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission stated that Google has cooperated with the regulatory investigation, accepted responsibility, and agreed to jointly apply to the Federal Court with the regulatory authorities to acknowledge that it should pay a total fine of 55 million Australian dollars.
