Hainan Province issues a blue alert for storm surges.

On August 17, 2025, at 10:00, the Hainan Provincial Marine Forecasting Station issued a level IV storm surge warning: Due to the influence of a tropical low pressure system in the South China Sea, it is expected that from noon today to noon tomorrow, there will be a 20-40 cm storm surge along the coast of Hainan Island. The highest tide levels at tide stations in the above-mentioned coastal areas are all below the local blue alert tide level.
