A relevant person from the National Development and Reform Commission said yesterday that in the past five years, China has actively promoted the green and low-carbon transformation of the energy structure, accelerated the improvement of the green and low-carbon transportation system, and continuously raised the level of green and low-carbon in urban and rural construction. Data shows that the proportion of coal consumption in China has decreased from 56.8% in 2020 to 53.2% in 2024, while the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption has increased from 15.9% to 19.8%. The scale of renewable energy power generation in China is the largest in the world, with the fastest development speed, and continues to maintain the leading position in new installed capacity. As of the end of June this year, the total installed capacity of renewable energy in China reached 2.159 billion kilowatts, accounting for approximately 59.2% of the total installed capacity in the country.
