On August 14th local time, Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Haskel visited the Kerem Shalom crossing, controlled by Israel between Israel and the Gaza Strip, and reiterated the so-called "five principles to end the Gaza conflict" previously approved by the Israeli Security Cabinet. The "five principles to end the Gaza conflict" refer to the complete disarmament of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas); the release of all detained individuals; the full demilitarization of the Gaza Strip; Israeli security control over Gaza; and the establishment of a non-Israeli-led and peaceful administrative body in Gaza that does not launch attacks against Israelis. The Israeli Security Cabinet announced on August 8th the approval of a plan to take over the city of Gaza and voted on the so-called "five principles to end the Gaza conflict."
