In the context of being attacked by drones, Russia's fuel oil exports have reached their highest level since the war.
In early August, despite escalating drone attacks on Russian refineries by Ukraine, Russia's oil product exports continued to grow, resulting in a surge in fuel oil shipments to their highest level since the conflict began. According to data collected by the agency from the analysis company Vortexa, in the first 10 days of August, total exports of oil products climbed to 231 million barrels per day. This is the highest level since February, up 9% from the daily average in July. Drone attacks on Russia's major refineries intensified before the summit between Trump and Putin on Friday, leading to a significant decline in oil processing rates. The significant increase in fuel oil shipments helped offset the impact of diesel shipments falling to their lowest level of the year, while gasoline exports were banned by the end of August to ensure domestic supply.
