Stop selling instant noodles! Guangzhou East Railway Station responds: Instant noodles are not sold in high-speed railway stations.
On August 14th, reporters visiting Guangzhou East Railway Station observed that all traditional instant noodles had stopped selling in the station waiting room. The store clerks stated that all the shelves had been replaced with mixed noodles, along with hot water supply. In addition to mixed noodles, there are still many dining options available in the station to meet passengers' various dining needs. When reporters checked the 12306 official website, there was a reminder in the travel tips dining section: Passenger train carriages are enclosed spaces. To create a good travel environment and ensure fresh air, passengers are advised not to consume foods with strong odors such as durians and instant noodles during the journey. In response, Guangzhou East Station stated that all regular speed trains that used to depart from East Station had been adjusted to depart from Guangzhou Station or other stations. Currently, only EMU trains depart from Guangzhou East Station. According to the China Railway Corporation's "Railway Passenger Transport Service Quality Standard," instant noodles are considered a food item that could significantly impact the cleanliness of the train environment. To maintain the cleanliness of high-speed railway stations and trains and provide passengers with better service, instant noodles are not sold in high-speed railway stations, but passengers can bring their own. One passenger interviewed by reporters about the discontinuation of instant noodles at the station said, "I can understand, if there is a need, you can still buy them outside the station. Everyone hopes for better air quality inside the carriages."
