The first zero-carbon and green China-Europe freight train will depart from Wuhan.
On August 13th, the first zero-carbon green freight train in the central region departed from the Wuhan Central Station of China Railway Alliance, loaded with goods such as car parts and daily necessities, heading west to Hamburg and Duisburg in Germany. This zero-carbon green freight train was jointly created by Hubei Port Group's Han-Europe International Company and Deutsche Bahn Cargo. Its core is to use 100% green electricity to drive the train in electrified sections, and to offset the remaining emissions through the World Wildlife Foundation's Gold Standard-certified carbon offset project in non-electrified sections, achieving "zero emissions" of carbon dioxide during the operation of the train.
