US Treasury Secretary Scott Bernt expressed that the Bank of Japan is slow in addressing inflation issues, and uncommonly pointed out the decisions of foreign central banks. Bernt stated on Wednesday, "They are a bit slow," and mentioned that he discussed Japan's inflation issues with Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda. "Therefore, they will need to raise interest rates and control inflation," he added. Bernt has praised the Bank of Japan's rate hikes in the past, stating that it aligns with economic fundamentals. He stated in April that with strong domestic data, the Bank of Japan is raising rates, so everything is natural.
