Federal Reserve's Governor Gursbi: Interest rate path still unclear
Chicago Fed President Goolsbee said that as he and his colleagues try to interpret inconsistent economic data and discuss how to best adjust rates in response, the Fed's meetings this fall will be "real-time decisions." "As we enter the fall, there will be some meetings where real-time decisions will be made, we must make judgments," Goolsbee said at an event in Springfield, Illinois on Wednesday. He was referring to the type of Fed meetings where policymakers' votes are not known beforehand.
