The Congolese army and the "M23 movement" are accusing each other of violating the ceasefire agreement.

On August 12th local time, the spokesperson for the Congolese armed forces, Sylvain Ekenge, issued a statement accusing the "M23 Movement" of violating the ceasefire agreement by launching multiple attacks on the positions of the Congolese armed forces in North Kivu and South Kivu provinces. The Congolese armed forces condemned this as a deliberate and blatant violation of the principles of the Doha Declaration.
