Tiananmen Square will be temporarily closed from August 20th to 23rd.

The Tiananmen Area Management Committee issued a notice on August 13, 2025, stating that according to the construction schedule of Tiananmen Square and its surrounding areas, in order to ensure the safety of tourists and construction workers, Tiananmen Square will be closed from August 20 to 23, and will partially reopen on the 24th depending on the actual situation. Tourists are advised to make early travel arrangements and kindly cooperate with the closure. Thank you for your understanding.
