The China Cement Market Center reported that starting from August, major clinker production enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region have gradually begun to halt production for about 15 days, resulting in a slight reduction in inventory pressure. As a result, coupled with the fact that regional cement prices have generally fallen to a low point, companies are facing greater operational pressure and have a strong willingness to increase prices. Starting from August 12, some enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region have notified an increase in clinker prices by 30 yuan/ton. Currently, most enterprises are still observing the situation. Possibly influenced by the increase in clinker prices, on the same day, some leading enterprises in regions like North Zhejiang have started to consider raising the price of high-standard bulk cement by 30 yuan/ton. Other industry players are still observing, and the specific implementation is yet to be tracked. Meanwhile, market feedback suggests that cement prices in Jiangsu region have reached a low point, and some enterprises are facing severe losses. In order to improve profitability, some enterprises in regions like Suzhou, Wuxi, and Changzhou in Jiangsu have announced an increase in the price of high-standard cement by about 30 yuan/ton starting from August 12. Overall, the market is still in the low season with high temperatures and frequent typhoons, and demand has not shown any improvement. It remains to be seen whether this round of price increases can be realized.
