State Council Taiwan Affairs Office: Taiwan has never been and will never become a country.

On August 13, the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office held a routine press conference. A reporter asked about the remarks made by the heads of relevant departments in Taiwan regarding the "two countries theory." In response, spokesperson Zhu Fenglian stated that there is only one China in the world, Taiwan is a part of China, which is an indisputable historical and legal fact, as well as an unchangeable reality in the Taiwan Strait. Taiwan has never been a country and will never become one. The Democratic Progressive Party authorities ignore history, distort facts, and repeatedly sell the fallacy and lies of "mutual non-recognition" between the two sides of the strait, which will only exacerbate tensions in the Taiwan Strait, disrupt peace and stability in the region, and bring great catastrophe to the people of Taiwan. No one or force can change the fact that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China, nor can they stop the inevitable trend of reunification of the motherland. It is hoped that the enlightened individuals and the vast majority of compatriots in Taiwan will see through the evil nature of "Taiwan independence," conform to the historical trend of national reunification, resolutely oppose the splittist activities of "Taiwan independence," and take practical actions to safeguard their own interests, well-being, and peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
