Today, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a routine press conference. A reporter asked: On August 4th, the famous Taiwanese historian Mr. Xu Zhuoyun passed away. What are your comments on this? In response to this, spokesperson Zhu Fenglian stated that Mr. Xu Zhuoyun was a well-known historian with deep research on Chinese history and civilization. He devoted his life to promoting Chinese culture, had a profound foundation and rich writings, and had a wide influence in the academic circles of both sides of the Taiwan Strait and internationally.
