On the 12th local time, the South African government held a press conference to introduce five measures that have been approved by the cabinet and are being implemented to address the unilateral 30% tariff imposed by the United States on South African exports since August 7. These measures include continuing tariff negotiations with the U.S., promoting export market diversification, implementing economic support schemes, taking trade defense measures, and implementing a domestic demand stimulation plan.
