When biotechnology is deeply integrated with artificial intelligence, the world's first intelligent breeding robot capable of autonomous hybrid pollination has been born. Developed by a team led by researcher Xu Cao from the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, this robot named "Jier" can reduce breeding costs, shorten breeding cycles, and improve breeding efficiency. Currently, "Jier" has achieved stable operation in commercial greenhouse production - taking only 15 seconds to pollinate a flower, and can continuously cruise and automatically hybrid pollinate throughout the day to ensure successful pollination and fruit setting for each flower. Meanwhile, "Jier 2.0" is under development and will be applied to different crops. The domestic self-sufficiency rate of the components of this robot has exceeded 95%.
