Since the beginning of this year, Hong Kong's re-financing market has seen explosive growth. According to the data from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, as of August 6, a total of more than 240 Hong Kong companies have implemented re-financing, excluding capital increases through stock payment, involving an amount of 183.9 billion Hong Kong dollars, which is 2.17 times the total re-financing amount in 2024. In terms of industry distribution, companies in the new economy sector are the absolute main force in stock financing, with leading companies such as BYD, Xiaomi, and WuXi AppTec raising the most funds. On the funding side, sovereign wealth funds, long-term funds, and renowned private equity investors are deeply involved. This wave of stock financing led by the new economy sector and dominated by institutional capital not only reflects the market's recognition of high-quality companies, but also highlights the unique advantages of Hong Kong's capital market.
