Brazil sugar production expectations rising, New York raw sugar futures prices rising for a third consecutive session.
The Wisdom Financial APP learned that the market is once again worried about the possibility of reduced sugar production in Brazil, the world's largest sugar-producing country, which could lead to supply shortages. The price of New York raw sugar futures has risen for the third consecutive day, setting a new record for the longest consecutive increase since February 21. According to Rashel Sheikh, Managing Director of trade company Meir Commodities India Pvt, sugar production in Brazil for the 2025-26 fiscal year is expected to decrease to a range of 39 to 40 million tons, lower than the market's previous general expectation of 41 million tons. This adjustment is mainly based on the large-scale drought encountered at the early stages of crop growth, leading to a decrease in yield levels.
