On August 11, the American Washington Daily reported that a recent study by the American investment bank Goldman Sachs found that American consumers will bear a large portion of the cost of tariff policies in the future. According to the research team led by Goldman Sachs analyst Elsie Peng, as of June this year, American companies have borne 64% of the tariff costs, American consumers have borne 22%, and foreign export companies have borne 14% by lowering export prices. Goldman Sachs predicts that this ratio will change significantly, with products such as cars being heavily impacted by American tariff policies, while the impact on the consumer end is still gradually emerging. Currently, the retail prices of household appliances and computer equipment in the United States have increased significantly compared to before.
