France's largest nuclear power plant has been shut down urgently due to the invasion of jellyfish.
The French electricity group announced on the 11th that the Gravelines Nuclear Power Plant in northern France was shut down due to a large number of jellyfish near the equipment system, and the entire nuclear power plant suspended operation. The French electricity group stated in a statement that the gathering of a large number of jellyfish triggered the protection mechanism of the filtration equipment at the pump station, and the four reactor units were shut down one after another from the evening of the 10th to the early morning of the 11th local time. The remaining two units of the power plant were previously shut down for maintenance. It is understood that the Gravelines Nuclear Power Plant is located in the northern province of France, built by the sea, and is the largest nuclear power plant in France. Workers are conducting emergency diagnostics and repairs to ensure the safe restart of the nuclear power plant.
