Matcha outperforms gold: surged by nearly 200% in a year and a half.
A new type of financial product has added another heavyweight. Recently, many well-known Japanese matcha brands have generally increased prices by 20-60%, with some having already adjusted prices in the second half of 2024. Some consumers have expressed that in February of last year, they could still buy Marukyu Koyamaen's "Isuzu" for 70-80 yuan, but now this product is being sold on e-commerce platforms for 235 yuan or even higher - an increase of nearly 200% in a year and a half. By this calculation, the increase in matcha prices has surpassed that of gold, bitcoin, and NVIDIA's stock during the same period.
