Shenzhen unveils 10-year plan for water network construction, building three verticals, four horizontals, five rivers, one hundred reservoirs, two bays, and one hundred corridors.

The "Shenzhen Water Network Construction Plan" was officially released and implemented recently. The plan focuses on building a modern water network in Shenzhen that is "systematically complete, safe and reliable, intensive and efficient, green and intelligent, smoothly connected, and orderly controlled". It clearly outlines the guiding ideology, target vision, overall layout, key tasks, implementation path, and guarantee measures. The plan proposes the overall layout of the Shenzhen water network as "three verticals and four horizontals, five rivers and hundred reservoirs, two bays and hundred galleries, water-rich Pengcheng", as well as the overall layout of the water network in the Shenzhen-Shan Special Cooperation Zone as "one diversion and three reservoirs, one river and multiple branches, one bay and six galleries". It aims to significantly improve the five major capabilities by deploying tasks such as water resource allocation and water supply security network, flood control safety network, green ecological network, digital twin network, and promoting the high-quality development of water network integration and coordination.
