Due to forest fires, the Bosphorus Strait in Turkey has been closed to one-way traffic.
On August 11th local time, forest fires broke out in multiple locations in the Chnakal province in northwest Turkey, quickly spreading under strong winds. Authorities have initiated joint aerial and ground firefighting efforts, and organized large-scale evacuations. Due to the fire situation, the Dardanelles Strait has been temporarily closed to southbound traffic, flights at the Chnakal Airport have been suspended, and certain sections of the Chnakal-Ezine highway have also been closed.
