According to the latest research from Canalys, Smart Finance APP learned that in the second quarter of 2025, global smartphone shipments decreased slightly to 288.9 million units, constrained by relatively mild consumer demand, leading to suppressed market growth. Samsung maintained the position of the largest shipment volume manufacturer in this quarter, with shipments of 57.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 7%. Its performance was mainly benefited from the Galaxy A series targeting the mass market. Apple (AAPL.US) ranked second with iPhone shipments of 44.8 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 2%. Despite facing fierce competition in the Chinese market and challenges in the US market due to inventory adjustments (mainly due to rapidly changing tariff policies), Apple still showed strong resilience. Xiaomi (01810) held onto third place with shipments of 42.4 million units, showing particularly strong performance in the Latin American and African markets. vivo ranked fourth with a 2% year-on-year increase, shipping 26.4 million units, with significant growth in the Indian market. Transsion ranked fifth with shipments of 24.6 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 3%.
