Tao Lin talks about Tesla battery recycling: extracting 90% of waste from each battery and putting it into new battery production.

Tesla's global vice president, Tao Lin, wrote that Tesla takes every recycled battery seriously and reuses them all, with 90% of the waste being extracted and put back into the production of new batteries. She mentioned that in 2024, Tesla successfully recycled enough materials to manufacture about 21,000 batteries for the Model Y rear-wheel drive version.
