The first Chinese-invested hydropower station in Nepal has surpassed 3 billion kilowatt-hours of accumulated electricity generation.
On the evening of the 8th local time, the Upper Marshyangdi A Hydropower Station in Nepal, built and invested by a Chinese company, has accumulated a total power generation of over 3 billion kilowatt-hours. The Upper Marshyangdi A Hydropower Station, invested and developed by China Energy Engineering Group Overseas Investment Ltd., has a total installed capacity of 50 megawatts. Construction started in January 2013 and officially began commercial operation on January 1, 2017. This project is Nepal's first hydropower station invested, developed, constructed, and operated by a Chinese company, and is currently the largest hydropower station in terms of accumulated power generation among Chinese-operated hydropower projects in Nepal.
