Semaglutide, the active ingredient in Wegovy and Ozempic by Novo Nordisk, significantly reduced weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol after two years. Excluding the monthly drug cost of up to $1000, insurance companies saw an increase of $67 per month in healthcare expenses for diabetic patients and an increase of $81 per month for non-diabetic patients.
