The Transitional President Commission in Haiti appoints a new chairman.

The Transitional President Commission of Haiti announced on the 7th in the capital Port-au-Prince that it has appointed board member Laurent Saint-Cyr as the new chairman. He will temporarily hold specific presidential powers. Saint-Cyr's term will last until February 7, 2026, when Haiti will hold presidential elections. In his inauguration speech, he said, "Our country is experiencing one of the most serious crises in its history. Now is not the time for fancy speeches, but for action."
