Policy Shift Unable to Stop Solar Boom, Goldman Sachs Predicts Installed Capacity to Exceed 914 Gigawatts by 2030.
According to the Zhitong Finance and Economics App, despite the shift in policies of some major economies, the global solar energy industry is still expected to maintain high-speed growth. The latest forecast from Goldman Sachs research department shows that by 2030, global solar energy installed capacity will reach 914 gigawatts, a 57% increase from the level in 2024. This optimistic outlook contrasts with current policy adjustments in some countries - China has canceled grid access guarantees for the construction of large-scale commercial and industrial solar projects, and the US federal government is also reviewing and implementing regulations that may create downward pressure on solar installations starting from 2028.
