Milan criticized officials with political backgrounds for difficulty in maintaining neutrality in the Federal Reserve.
Market analyst Matt Grossman said that President Trump has nominated Stephen Moore as a candidate for the vacancy on the Federal Reserve Board until the end of January next year. Moore publicly criticized officials with political backgrounds for struggling to remain neutral on the board last year, specifically mentioning Chicago Fed President Charles Evans and questioning his ability to truly put politics aside, casting doubt on his credibility as a board member. Moore's assessment of Evans now sounds more like a "self-accusation" of his own possible partisan bias. He wrote at the time, "The idea of being able to easily switch between highly politicized and so-called non-political roles without letting political biases affect policy making is at best naive and at worst, sinister."
