The Gansu Provincial Water Resources Department has initiated a level III emergency response for flood defense.

According to the "Gansu Provincial Department of Water Resources Emergency Response Plan for Flood and Drought Disasters", the Provincial Department of Water Resources has decided to launch a level III emergency response for flood defense in Lanzhou, Wuwei, Baiyin, Dingxi, Linxia, Gannan, Longnan, Tianshui and other eight cities starting from 2 o'clock on August 8. The Provincial Department of Water Resources requires relevant municipal and county water departments to strengthen organizational leadership, tighten defense responsibilities, closely monitor changes in rainfall, enhance monitoring and forecasting, consultation and analysis, as well as duty and shift, focus on strengthening the safety of reservoirs and silt dams, flood control and scientific scheduling, improve the defense and inspection of small and medium rivers, mountain torrents, and embankments, and effectively carry out flood defense work in construction sites and low-lying areas related to rivers and canals, ensuring the safety of the people's lives.
