Counterpoint Research: In May, the average battery capacity of smartphones in the Chinese market increased by 11% year-on-year, ranking first globally.

According to the latest Global Smartphone Model Sales Tracking Report from Counterpoint Research obtained by Zhitong Finance and Economics APP, in May 2025, the average battery capacity of smartphones in the Chinese market reached 5418mAh, an increase of 11% compared to the same period. Meanwhile, the average battery capacity in other regions around the world only increased by 3%. Compared to other regions globally, China has consistently maintained a higher average battery capacity. In recent months, with the increasing adoption rate of silicon carbide (SiC) batteries (especially in models sold domestically only), the gap has widened to over 500mAh.
