The United States will ease human rights criticism against El Salvador, Israel, and Russia.
According to a report citing a draft of the US State Department's annual human rights report by The Washington Post, the Trump administration plans to reduce criticism of El Salvador, Israel, and Russia on human rights issues. The draft reports related to those countries are significantly shorter than those written by the Democratic former President Joe Biden administration. Joe Biden stepped down in January this year, followed by the inauguration of Donald Trump as president. The US State Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Wednesday and has not yet officially released this year's relevant report. Usually, these annual reports are released around March or April each year.
