Apple announced on Wednesday its plan to invest an additional $100 billion in American companies and suppliers over the next four years. This will bring the total investment by the company in the United States to $600 billion over the next four years, or $150 billion per year. Apple stated that its American supply chain will produce over 19 billion chips for its products this year. This includes chips produced by TSMC in Arizona, wafers manufactured by GlobalWafers in the United States, and chips from Texas Instruments. Apple stated that its goal is to establish an "end-to-end" supply chain, meaning that every part of the chip manufacturing process can be done in the United States.
