Semiconductor tariffs on the horizon, Trump meets with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang again.
On Wednesday, Donald Trump met with NVIDIA CEO Huang Renxun at the White House, just as the US President prepares to impose new tariffs on semiconductor imports. Just hours after Huang Renxun's visit to the White House, Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to announce a commitment to invest an additional $100 billion in the US. Executives from both of these tech companies have lobbied Trump in hopes of having their products excluded from the upcoming import tariffs. Trump stated that he plans to announce relevant measures as early as next week. "We will be making a statement on semiconductors and chips, it's a separate category because we want these products to be manufactured in the US," Trump said in an interview with CNBC on Tuesday.
