The Lithuanian Social Democratic Party nominated Rudene as Prime Minister.

According to Lithuanian media reports, the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party leadership nominated Minister of Social Security and Labor, Inga Rugiene, as the next prime minister. Rugiene, who is 44 years old, was first elected as a member of the Lithuanian parliament in 2024 and entered the cabinet. She previously served as the chairwoman of the Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation.
