Guangdong Huaiji has experienced a flood exceeding the warning level, prompting the launch of a Level III emergency response for flood prevention.
On August 6th, heavy rainstorms hit multiple towns and streets in Huaiji County, Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, causing the water levels of several rivers to rise rapidly. At around 10am on the 6th, the Zhaoqing Hydrological Sub-Bureau of Guangdong Province issued 4 flood warnings, with a red warning for Zhongzhou River in Huaiji County, orange warnings for Fenggang River and Suijiang River in Huaiji County, and a yellow warning for Maning River in Huaiji County. By 12pm on that day, two rivers in Huaiji County had exceeded flood warning levels. The Three Defense Headquarters of Huaiji County raised the flood control emergency response from level IV to level III at 11:10am on the 6th. According to current estimates of rainfall and water conditions, the Suijiang-Huaiji station located in Huaiji County town is expected to reach a peak water level of around 52 meters around 7pm on the 6th, exceeding the alert water level by 2 meters.
