The inspection and guidance team of the Ministry of Transport found 60 hidden problems and risks during the inspection in Xinjiang.
Recently, the inspection and guidance team of the Ministry of Transport's first group went to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to carry out guidance work on the investigation and rectification of major risks in traffic safety production during the flood season and summer. The inspection and guidance team inspected 21 units in Urumqi, Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, and Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, discovering a total of 60 problems and hidden dangers, including one major hidden danger and one key issue. On June 23, the inspection and guidance team found that the control room was set up under the slope of the hole with collapse risk in the Alfalfa Tunnel project on the road from Jinaan Interchange to Aiwergou to Alehui Town on Provincial Road 103, mainly used for personnel access channels and monitoring. It was found that the strata at the location of the Alfalfa Tunnel are Carboniferous conglomeratic rocks, with overall good surrounding rock conditions in most sections of the tunnel, but poor surrounding rock conditions at the entrance and exit sections and broken sections of the tunnel, with issues such as surface water infiltration, rock fractures, and weathering affecting some sections, leading to severe hazards of slope collapse at the exit section of the tunnel.
