Thanks to the boom in transactions triggered by the improvement of corporate governance in Japan, JPMorgan Chase doubled its profits in the region last year, surpassing other international competitors. According to regulatory filings, in the fiscal year ending March 31, the net profit of the American bank's Japanese securities subsidiary more than doubled to 45.6 billion yen, reaching its highest level in at least seven years. This marks a rebound from the previous year's decline, reflecting growth in mergers and acquisitions advisory and underwriting business.
