Oil refinery attacked, Russian gasoline prices hit historic high
Saint Petersburg International Commodities Exchange AI-95 gasoline prices hit a record high, exceeding 77,000 rubles per ton. A market analyst attributed the rise in oil prices to the Ukrainian drone attack on a Russian refinery on August 2. They stated that the attacks damaged crude processing units with a total capacity of around 40,000 tons per day, and repairs are expected to take 1 to 6 months. The Russian Ministry of Energy stated that the market situation is stable, and in an interview with Russian news media, the ministry said that oil companies have redirected additional gasoline supply to the domestic market to stabilize the situation and reduce exports.
