National Mine Safety Administration: Heavy rain continues to affect multiple tailings dams in Guangdong, Guangxi, and Liaoning provinces.

On August 5, the Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue orange alerts for heavy rain and high temperatures. Heavy rainfall continues in southern China, while the high temperatures in the central and eastern regions will gradually decrease starting tomorrow. According to the National Mine Safety Supervision Bureau, on August 5, the rainfall exceeding 100 mm mainly occurred in Guangdong and Guangxi provinces, affecting 2 tailings dams. Rainfall of 50mm to 100mm mainly occurred in Guangxi, Guangdong, and Liaoning provinces, affecting 27 tailings dams, including 3 "top dam" tailings dams.
