On August 5th, according to the monitoring of the meteorological department, in the past 24 hours, 56 counties in Guangdong Province experienced heavy rain weather. It is forecasted that the rain will continue in the coming days. Based on the "Rules for Flood and Drought Prevention and Control in Guangdong Province" issued by the Department of Water Resources of Guangdong Province, the leading group for flood and drought prevention and control of the Department of Water Resources of Guangdong Province upgraded the emergency response level from level III to level II at 8:00 on August 5th. It requires all local departments to tighten and implement flood prevention responsibilities, closely monitor the rainfall situation, intensify consultations and assessments, timely issue flood warnings and flood discharge warnings, and carry out disaster monitoring and defense work for potential landslides, floods in small and medium-sized rivers, and urban and rural waterlogging caused by heavy rainfall, in order to fully ensure the safety of people's lives and property. As of 9:00 on the 5th, there were 9 monitoring stations in Guangdong Province that exceeded the warning water level, and 4 rivers exceeded the warning water level, specifically Dongjiang River, Xizhijiang River, Shibashui River, and Bengkan River.
